BRADENTON, Florida – Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Cayman Islands enjoyed strong starts to 2019 Concacaf Under-17 Championship Qualifying with victories in their respective opening matches.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines opened up Group A action against the U.S. Virgin Islands and rode a Javen Deanroy Hunte goal in the 76’ to earn all three points in a 1-0 win.

The Cayman Islands collected a clean sheet win of their own, thanks to a Jahrion Bodden penalty conversion in the 63’ and then a Breshawn Watson goal in the 84’ to put the 2-0 victory on ice.

Three of the four teams from Saturday’s action will return to the playing field on Monday, as the U.S. Virgin Islands takes aim at the Cayman Islands, while Saint Vincent and the Grenadines will tussle with Nicaragua.
