ZURICH -- FIFA announced Monday the refereeing trios assigned to next month’s FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco.

Match officials from each of the six continental confederations were selected, including three from CONCACAF:

Referee: Walter Lopez (Guatemala)
Assistant 1: Leonel Leal (Costa Rica)
Assistant 2: Gerson Lopez (Guatemala)

At 34-years-old, Walter Lopez will be the youngest referee at the event.

The FIFA Club World Cup is scheduled to take place December 10-20, 2014, in Marrakech and Rabat.

Mexico’s Cruz Azul, which is making its first tournament appearance, will represent CONCACAF as the 2013/14 Champions League champion.  It will open with a quarterfinal match against Asian winner Western Sydney Wanderers of Australia on December 13.
