CSA Unveils Innovative Strategic Plan

The Canadian Soccer Association today unveiled an ambitious Strategic Plan for the coming years, entitled “Leading a Soccer Nation.” The plan, as outlined by CSA President Victor Montagliani and General Secretary Peter Montopoli, is a forward-thinking platform that embraces football at the grassroots level while outlining a bid for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Canada is set to host next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup, and will also stage the FIFA Women’s Under-20 World Cup this summer. In addition, Montagliani revealed that Canada will launch an effort to host the full men’s edition of the World Cup in 2026.

Beyond its extensive hosting efforts, Canada Soccer leadership also revealed plans to revamp efforts to develop the game at the grassroots level, in a bid to field world class national team at all levels of the game.

“We envision a Federation that successfully qualifies for and competes in every FIFA competition regardless of age and regardless of gender,” said Montagliani.
