OTTAWA – Canada will play its first international of the year on May 23, when it squares off against Bulgaria in a closed-door friendly at the Sonnenseestation in Ritzing, Austria, it was announced Tuesday. The match will be the first between the two countries.
It marks the second time that the Canadians will be based in Austria. Last November, in head coach Benito Floro’s third camp in charge, the team trained in Bad Waltersdorf prior to encounters against the Czech Republic and Slovenia.
The Canadian Soccer Association previously announced that the men’s national team will host Jamaica on September 9 at BMO Field in Toronto and will travel to face Panama in Panama City on November 18.
