Jamaica, Suriname and El Salvador steal the show in League A
Jamaica, Suriname and El Salvador opened League A with wins.
MIAMI – Group B in League A of the 2026/2027 Concacaf Nations League continued its action on Friday, with Jamaica, Suriname and El Salvador taking the Matchday 2 wins.
Jamaica 3, Guatemala 2
Jamaica secured a home win against Guatemala with a 3-2 score at National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
The Central Americans kicked off the goal count as soon as the game started, in the 2’,with Oscar Santis ready to capitalize in a contraattack play, scoring the first one for Guatemala with a right foot shot in the box.
Kasey Palmer found an equalizer for the Reggae Boyz in the 37’. Rumarn Burrell scored the second goal for Jamaica with a right foot shot in the box in the 53’.
Santis secured a brace and put Guatemala back in the game in the 67’. However, the Caribbeans kept on pushing, getting the winner in the 90+4’ thanks to a right foot shot in the box by Renaldo Cephas.
Honduras 2, Suriname 3
Suriname closed an away comeback after a 2-3 score against Honduras at Estadio Nacional Chelato Uclés in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
The visitors kicked off the game with a goal in the 18’ thanks to a right foot shot in the box by Justin Lonwijk. Honduras didn’t take long to find an equalizer, with Dereck Moncada pulling one back for Honduras in the 20’.
Los Catrachos kept the tally going, finding a second goal in the 23’ after Bryan Róchez got past two Suriname defenders and their goalkeeper to send a volley to the back of the net.
Denzel Jubitana managed to even out the game once again before halftime, sending a left foot shot to Hondura’s lower left corner in the 39’. An own goal by Luis Palma secured Suriname’s first win in Group B in League A
El Salvador 3, Martinique 1
El Salvador closed Group B Friday action with a 3-1 win against Martinique at Estadio Jorge “El Mágico” González in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Brayan Gil gave El Salvador the lead early in the game, in the 8’, with a right foot shot in the box. He secured a brace and the second goal for La Selecta in the 18’.
Janis Antiste didn’t miss from the penalty spot, pulling one back for Martinique back in the 51’
