Salcedo FC and Cibao FC split the points in Group B

The Dominican clubs played to a hard-fought draw in the Group Stage.

SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS – Group B action of the 2026 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continued on Thursday, with Salcedo FC and Cibao FC playing to a 1-1 draw at Estadio Moca 85 in Moca, Dominican Republic.

After a goalless first half, Salcedo FC managed to break the deadlock in 51’, opening the scoring when Jairo Alegría headed in a cross from Sebastian Ramos.

Cibao FC didn’t take long to even things out, scoring the equalizer in the 60’ as Mariano Nichele fired a high shot from close range.

With the result, Salcedo FC became the first Dominican team to avoid defeat in their first four games in the Caribbean Cup, surpassing Atlético Pantoja’s record in 2023.

Salcedo FC finished group play with six points and will have to wait on other results to see if they advance to the following round. Cibao FC will play its final Group Stage match against Portmore United on Thursday, September 17.
