MIAMI, Florida – Things are very not over for Haiti at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. On Tuesday, they will play their most important match yet when they face Denmark at the Perth Rectangular Stadium in Perth, Australia in the final match of Group D.

Haiti have shown resilience and why they are the national team that everyone is keeping their eyes on after their first two performances at this Women’s World Cup, despite both ending in narrow 1-0 defeats.

Their last game against China showed the depth of their squad, as star player FW Melchie Dumornay wasn’t able to start due to injury, with the rest of the team taking care of creating scoring chances against the Asian side.

Captain and FW Nerilia Mondesir managed to create opportunities for her team, opening up spaces for Les Grenadieres. Another key player has been GK Kerly Theus, who stopped almost every ball that came her way with force and determination.

The Caribbean side will face Denmark, who are playing their first Women’s World Cup for the first time in 16 years, hungry to reach the next stages of the tournament.

Captain and FW Pernille Harder is the star of the Scandinavian side and led her team in both the win versus China and the defeat against European champions England. She will try to do it again against Haiti and help keep Denmark’s chances of qualifying alive.

A win for Haiti and an England victory against China could pave the way for Haiti reaching the next round, depending on goal difference.

This will be the first time these two teams have played each other and there is no better stage on which to do it than the biggest one in football.
