FRANKFURT, Germany – German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt announced Thursday the signing of Mexico international Marco Fabian from Guadalajara on a deal that runs through June 2019.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder, who was a member of the Cruz Azul squad that won the 2013-14 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League title, made 223 appearances in the Mexican league and scored 56 goals.

"I am looking forward to this challenge and it is an honor to receive the shirt number 10 - I will give everything to make things happen,” said Fabian. “My aim is to become part of the team as soon as possible and to work hard for our success!"

Fabian spent the last year with Chivas, netting three goals in 13 games during the recently completed Apertura season.

“Marco is a flexible offensive player who can support our attack in central midfield as well as on the wings, plus he scores goals,” Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Bruno Hübner commented. “With his call-ups to various tournaments, he gathered plenty of international experience - we are glad to have him on board."

In addition to his success at the club level, Fabian won a gold medal with Mexico at the 2012 Olympic Games (6 games, 1 goal). He has earned 23 caps for the Tricolor, with his last appearance coming against Ecuador on June 19, 2015, at the Copa America.
