THE VALLEY, Anguilla – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers continued with the Dominican Republic earning an 8-nil victory over Anguilla in Group D at Raymond E. Guishard Technical Centre in The Valley, Anguilla.
Jazmín Jackson opened the scoring just five minutes into the match when she knocked in a cross from captain Alyssa Oviedo.
Oviedo then proceeded to take over with goals in the 22’, 37’ and 38’ to complete a first-half hat trick.
Mía Asenjo added one for the Dominican Republic in the 42’ with a blast from in the box to make it 5-nil at the break.
Halftime substitute Nadia Colón had an instant impact as she smashed a shot from distance off the crossbar to extend the lead in the 48’.
Seconds after entering the game in the 60’, Gabriella Cuevas added to the tally by tapping in a corner kick at the back post.
Kathrynn González put the finishing touches on the victory in the 90’+1’ when she beat the keeper to the ball and sped around her for the last goal of the match.
The victory sees the Dominican Republic improve to seven points to take the Group D lead, just a point ahead of Haiti.
The two nations will finish their participation in the W Qualifiers during the April Qualifying window. Dominican Republic will face Haiti in the final match of its campaign. Anguilla matches up against Haiti, before concluding against Belize.
