MIAMI, Florida – The October window of League B of the Road to W Gold Cup is complete. Many players delivered top performances over the course of the matches, yet these 11 players stood out the most at their respective positions.
Goalkeeper
Angela Gutierrez, Nicaragua
No goalkeeper had more saves in League B than Gutierrez, who recorded 18 saves in the two games, plus three clearances while only conceding two goals.
Defenders
Brianne Reed, Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic registered two clean sheet victories over the window thanks in part to the defensive efforts of Reed, who was also active going forward with six shots and an assist.
Adrienne Forde, Barbados
Forde scored the Barbados goal in their 1-1 draw with group leaders Bermuda and also made eight clearances in the team’s two matches.
Sydney Cummings, Guyana
Guyana had a very impressive window with back-to-back 1-0 wins versus Suriname and Cummings played a key role with six clearances and an assist.
Midfielders
Kathrynn Gonzalez, Dominican Republic
Gonzalez was integral to the 8-0 and 4-0 victories for the Dominican Republic against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines with two goals from seven shots and two assists.
Danielle Fuentes, El Salvador
El Salvador clinched first-place in Group B to qualify for the W Gold Cup Prelims thanks in large part to Fuentes, who scored the winner in the 1-0 win at Honduras and then a brace in the 5-0 home win over the Catrachas.
Danya Gutierrez, El Salvador
Gutierrez’s work in midfield aided El Salvador’s Prelims qualification as well. She had a goal in the second game versus Honduras and took eight shots across both games.
Starr Humphreys, Dominica
Dominica enjoyed a four-point window against Antigua and Barbuda, with Humphreys serving as the hero in the 2-1 victory by scoring both goals.
Forwards
Maeva Salomon, Martinique
Martinique earned four points from two games against Nicaragua, with Salomon scoring a key equalizer in the 1-1 draw at Nicaragua. She finished the window with 10 shots.
Jazmin Jackson, Dominican Republic
Jackson was relentless for the Dominican Republic in scoring four goals from eight shots, while also contributing an assist.
Aaliyah Nolan, Bermuda
Bermuda remained atop Group C with Nolan starring in the 1-1 draw at Barbados and then the 4-2 home win versus Barbados. Nolan had the lone Bermuda goal in the first game and then struck for a brace in the second contest.
