MANILA, Philippines Concacaf participation at the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup Philippines 2025 kicked off with Canada falling 2-nil against Colombia in Group B on Saturday at PhilSports Arena in Manila, Philippines.

The reigning Concacaf W Futsal Champions made history by becoming the first team of the confederation to play in the inaugural edition of the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup.

Canada started off trying to find the net within the first minutes. Concacaf W Futsal Championship Golden Boot winner Esther Brossard attempted to start her tally in the Philippines, but Colombia’s goalkeeper Allison Olave denied her chances.

Colombia took the lead in the 15'58" thanks to a right foot shot in the area by Angely Camargo.

Magali Gagne tried to even things for Canada out in the 27'33", but her right-footed shot was deflected by Olave.

A left-footed shot by Nicole Mancilla in the 29'08" doubled Colombia’s lead, as the South Americans collected its first win of the tournament.

Canada will look to bounce back and get its first win against Thailand on Tuesday.
