The tournament's semifinals took place on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. In the first match of the day, Gotham FC secured a 3-1 victory against Club America Femenil. The NWSL side took a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute when Geyse scored from a corner. Midge Purce extended the lead with a penalty in the 30th minute, and just three minutes later, an own goal by America made it 3-0. Irene Guerrero cut the deficit to 3-1 in the 38th minute. With the victory, Gotham FC advanced to the Final.
Later that night, Tigres Femenil clinched a 2-0 victory over Portland Thorns FC. Aaliyah Farmer scored in the 11th minute, heading in a goal from a corner kick. South African forward Thembi Kgatlana doubled the lead in the 28th minute, sealing Tigres' place in Saturday’s Final.
The losing semifinalists, Club America Femenil and Portland Thorns FC, will play in the Third Place Match at 7:00 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. local time).
Fans from across the region and the world will be able to follow and enjoy the W Champions Cup Finals on the Confederation’s TV partner networks, including the CBS Sports platforms Paramount+, CBS Sports Network, and CBS Sports Golazo Network (English) and ESPN Deportes (Spanish) in the United States. In Canada, matches will be available on One Soccer. For Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, matches will be broadcast on ESPN.
The inaugural edition of the Concacaf W Champions Cup included 11 of the best clubs from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean, and kicked off in August of last year with a single-leg Play-In in which Vancouver Whitecaps FC (CAN) defeated Alianza Women FC (SLV) 1-0. With the victory, the Whitecaps advanced to the Group Stage, completing Group B.
The Group Stage saw 10 clubs—three from NWSL (United States), three from Liga MX (Mexico), and one from each of the domestic leagues of Canada, Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Panama—divided into two groups of five clubs each, with each club playing every club in their group once. The five-week Group Stage took place from late August to mid-October.
At the end of the Group Stage, the top two teams from each group advanced to the Concacaf W Champions Cup Finals. The Finals consist of four matches (Semifinals, Third Place Match, and Final), all taking place at Estadio Universitario in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. This historic venue is home to Tigres Femenil and has hosted numerous elite Concacaf national team matches and competitions.
