MIAMI – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Champions Cup concludes its opening match week with LD Alajuelense hosting Club América Femenil in Group A on Wednesday at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Both clubs return for a second consecutive edition to face off in a first-time meeting.

Club América, who finished fourth in the inaugural season, qualified as the runner-up with the highest position in the Liga MX Femenil aggregate table after reaching the Clausura 2025 Final. Captain Kiana Palacios, game changer Sarah Luebbert and young sensation Montserrat Saldivar will make their returns to the W Champions Cup pitch for Las Águilas.

 

 

The eight-time Costa Rica champions also return to the tournament after leaving its mark in the inaugural edition. La Liga was the lone Central American side to earn a win in the past edition. The likes of Kenia Rangel, Maria Paula Coto, and Angela Mesen will be part of the squad as they seek to continue writing history.
