LONDON – Reigning Concacaf W Champions Cup holders Gotham FC won the Play-off for third place at the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup 2026, earning a 4-nil victory against ASFAR on Sunday at Arsenal Stadium in London, England. 

The occasion marked the first time Concacaf and CAF women’s clubs faced off in an official match.

Khyah Harper opened the scoring in the 27’, dribbling through the left side of the box to secure Gotham FC’s first goal in the tournament.

The North Americans doubled their lead in the 38’ thanks to Savannah McCaskill, who struck a left-footed shot in the box past the ASFAR defense line.

A penalty kick was called in favor of Gotham when Jaedyn Shaw was taken down in the area by Hanane Ait El Haj. Shaw converted from the penalty spot in the 43’, striking the ball into the bottom right corner.

The U.S. side continued strong in the second half, adding its fourth goal in the 48’ through the boots of Midge Purce, who was ready in the area to finish a collective play from the NWSL champions. 

With the result, Gotham FC secured the bronze medal at the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup.
