CHESTER, Pa. – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Champions Cup continued with Gotham FC drawing nil-nil against the Washington Spirit in Group B on Wednesday at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania, USA.
The NWSL counterparts played a hard fought first half, where both teams showed their defensive power, with both teams closing spaces for the opponents to stay deadlocked through halftime.
The second half started off strong, with both teams bringing key players to the pitch to make a difference. Leicy Santos checked in for the Spirit in the 62’ to help her team impose order in midfield.
The newest member of Gotham FC, Olympic Gold Medalist and Concacaf W Gold Cup champion Jaedyn Shaw brought her skills to the upper side of the field for Gotham in the 66’, hoping to give her team the advantage.
Gotham goalkeeper Shelby Hogan made three saves in her clean sheet effort. Sandy MacIver also made three stops for the Washington Spirit.
With the result, Gotham FC qualified for the Semifinals to continue its title defense at the 2026 Concacaf W Champions Cup Finals. The winners of the inaugural edition concluded the Group Stage with a 3-1-0 record and 10 points.
Washington Spirit remains in second place with a 2-1-0 record and will conclude the opening round when it hosts CF Monterrey Femenil on October 15.
