SAN NICOLÁS DE LOS GARZA, Mexico – NJ/NY Gotham FC earned a 3-1 victory against Club América Femenil in the Semifinals of the 2024/25 Concacaf W Champions Cup Finals on Wednesday at Estadio Universitario in San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León, Mexico.

Gotham FC took the lead off a corner kick chance in the 21’ as Geyse connected in the box with the service from Sarah Schupansky.

Midge Purce converted from the penalty spot in the 30’ to extend the lead for the U.S. side. Purce received the foul inside the box to earn the spot kick.

Esther González helped extend the lead even further with a shot towards goal in the 33’ that bounced off the left post and rebounded off América defender Jana Gutiérrez for an own goal.

Irene Guerrero cut the deficit in the 38’ with a right-footed touch in the box to slightly redirect an assist from Nicolette Hernández. Montserrat Saldívar was also essential in the buildup.

Emily Sonnett nearly had a fourth for Gotham in the 47’ but her shot from close range was denied by the crossbar.

González had a promising look from long range in the 61’ but was denied by the crossbar.

Guerrero had a shot on goal in the 66’ but was denied a brace by Ann-Katrin Berger.

Sarah Luebbert had another close call for América in the 79’ but was denied by the right post.

With the victory, Gotham FC advances to the championship match on Saturday at Estadio Universitario. The winner of the Final will be the inaugural Concacaf W Champions Cup winner and advance to the 2026 FIFA Women’s Champions Cup and book a place in the 2028 FIFA Women’s Club World Cup.
