Undefeated champions of the inaugural edition of the Concacaf W Champions Cup, NJ/NY Gotham FC qualified for the 2025/26 edition as the second-best team in the 2024 NWSL Shield standings.
NJ/NY Gotham FC claimed the historic first title with a 1-0 victory over Tigres UANL in the Final, thanks to a goal from Spanish star Esther González. They were the highest-scoring team in the 2024–25 tournament with 25 goals and also recorded the most wins (4).
