SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras – The 2015 CONCACAF Under-20 Women’s Championship – the competition’s 8th edition -- opens Thursday in Honduras with a Group A doubleheader at the Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano.

Canada v Trinidad & Tobago, 6:00 p.m. ET
Honduras v Jamaica, 8:30 p.m.ET
Group B -- consisting of Haiti, Mexico, Panama and the three-time defending champion United States – will start play on Friday.
The tournament will crown the Confederation champion at this age level and qualify three teams to the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea. The top two teams from each group after round-robin play will advances to the semifinals (December 11), with the winners of those two matches earning places in the final (December 13) and the World Cup. The semifinal losers will square off in the match for third place (December 13) to determine CONCACAF’s last representative.
While the Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano will host the entire group stage, the Estadio Francisco Morazan – home of Real España -- will be the site for the all encounters that follow.
A champion has been crowned in six of the competition’s seven previous editions. The U.S. has lifted the trophy a record four times, while Canada has been crowned twice.
