SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic The Dominican Republic and Cuba each punched their ticket to the Round of 16 of the 2020 Women’s Under-20 Championship after playing to a 0-0 draw in Group C action on Wednesday at the Estadio Olimpico Felix Sanchez in Santo Domingo.

Both defenses and goalkeepers starred on the day to secure the clean sheet for their respective sides and a place in the next round in the tournament.

In the group’s other match, the United States completed a perfect group stage campaign with a 11-0 win over Honduras.

Trinity Rodman scored five goals (14’, 29’, 34’, 37’, 71’) and Summer Yates (52’, 70’) bagged a brace, while Shae Holmes (17’) and Katelyn Duong (18’) added scores, plus own goals from Linda Reyes (20’) and Kerlyn De La Lopez (73’), to pace the four-time CUW20 champions to victory.

The U.S. finish first in the group with nine points, followed by Dominican Republic in second, Cuba in third and Honduras in fourth.
