SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – A goal in second-half stoppage time lifted visiting Honduras to a 2-1 win over El Salvador in an under-20 friendly on Tuesday at the Estadio Cuscatlan.

Jonathan Paz (90’+1) knocked in the game-winner, taking advantage of a mistake by goalkeeper Nicolas Pacheco off a free kick.

The visitors took a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute, when Olimpia’s Kevin Alvarez converted a penalty kick after Maycol Montero was taken down in the box by Roberto Fuentes.

El Salvador leveled in 83rd minute off a fine individual effort by Dennis Pineda, who received a pass inside the penalty area from Bryan Tamacas.

The Hondurans will remain in the country to face first-division side Santa Tecla on Thursday.

Honduras and El Salvador are preparing for Central American under-20 qualifiers, which will take place later this year.
