Mexico edges Haiti to reach CU17 Final

BRADENTON, Florida – Mexico is through to the 2019 Concacaf Under-17 Championship Final after edging Haiti 1-0 in the semifinals on Tuesday night at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

After an even first half between the two teams, Mexico’s Efrain Alvarez would find the back of the net in the 49’ for the game’s lone goal.

With the lead in hand, El Tricolor’s defense did the rest and recorded its fourth clean sheet of the 2019 CU17.

Mexico advances to the Final where it will face the United States in a rematch of the 2017 CU17 Final, when Mexico emerged victorious 5-4 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw.
