GOIANIA, Brazil For the first time since 2007, Haiti is back in the FIFA Men’s Under-17 World Cup and will be looking to make waves at the tournament in Brazil.

For Haiti, one of the keys to success at the World Cup will be the play of their defense.

Defenders Jean Geffrard and Stanley Guirand lead a back line that conceded just three goals in the 2019 Concacaf Under-17 Championship, helping earn both Geffrard and Guirand spots in the tournament’s Best XI.

There are also weapons up front. Michel Pierre and Fredler Christophe each scored three goals in the CU17 and now will try to display their goalscoring skills to the rest of the world.

The Haitians were drawn into Group B where they will face South Korea, 2001 U17 World Cup champions France and Chile.

All group stage matches for Les Grenadiers will take place at the Estadio da Serrinha in Goiania, beginning on Sunday against South Korea.

Three days later on Wednesday, October 30, Haiti will square off against Chile, before rounding out the group against France on Saturday, November 2.
