LIBERIA, Costa Rica – Jordi Bonilla and Carlos Herrera scored two goals each as El Salvador (1-0-0, 3 points) posted a 7-0 win over Belize on Thursday in a Central American qualifier for the 2015 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship at the Estadio Edgardo Baltodano Briceño.

The result means that El Salvador can progress to the Confederation finals with just a draw Saturday in the last Triangular I game against host Costa Rica (1-0-0, 3 points).  Though both are level on three points each, the Salvadorans have a superior goal differential (+7 to +2). Costa Ricans.  Belize (0-0-2, 0 points) has been eliminated from the competition.

"We come humbly with the coach’s confidence and this group is united," said Salvadoran defender Jose Palomo.   "Belize was a good opponent, maybe not noticeable on the scoreboard, but we knew better manage the game.”

Alexis Montes opened the scoring in the eighth minute and Bonilla (41’, 43’) netted a pair to make it 3-0 at the break.

To complete the scoreline, Herrera (66’, 86’) netted the first and last goals of the second half, while Levin Espinal (71’) and Josue Melendez (76’ pen) tallied once each.

"Costa Rica will be like a final and we are going with humility to meet the challenge, leave our work here and leave everything in God's hands," Palomo concluded.
