BRADENTON, Florida – Scoreboard operators were kept busy on Monday as the group stage of the 2019 Concacaf Under-17 Championship concluded with a high-scoring draw between Curacao and Panama, plus victories for the United States, Costa Rica and Canada.

Barbados vs. Canada, Group F

Canada collected its second win in a row with a strong 4-0 win versus Barbados. Jacen Russell opened the scoring in the 14’, followed by an Andre Applewhaite own goal in the 40’.

Any chances of a Barbados comeback were dashed in a five-minute span late in the second half after goals from Kamron Habibullah (74’) and Jeremie Omeonga (79’).

Guatemala vs. United States, Group F

A goal in each half from Griffin Yow paced the United States past Guatemala 3-0 to give the U.S. three wins in three matches in the group stage.

Yow found the back of the net in the 25’ and then again in the 51’, before Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez capped the day with a late score in the 86’.

Curacao vs. Panama, Group H

A wild 90 minutes between Curacao and Panama ended with a share of the spoils in a 3-3 draw. Juruel Bemadina had Cuarcao riding high after scoring in the 3’, but Panama was able to counter through Abdiel Castro in the 21’.

The two teams then traded punches right before halftime with Roshyon Anita tallying for Curacao in the 43’, only for Eric Pinto to pull the Canaleros level in the 45+2’.

It was then Panama’s turn to take the lead, as Jean Carlos Castillo struck in the 49’, but Curacao would battle back and earn a point thanks to Othmar Inecia’s late goal in the 84’.

Suriname vs. Costa Rica, Group H

Costa Rica completed the group stage with an unbeaten mark after topping Suriname 6-0. Geancarlos Castro notched a hat trick (7’, 54’, 68’), while Manfred Ugalde (44’), Keymark Davis (78’) and Jean Carlo Alvarado (89’) also got their names on the scoresheet in a commanding performance from the Ticos.
