MIAMI, Florida – A new generation of players is leading the United States Men’s National Team forward, and at the heart of it all is team captain Tyler Adams.

The 24-year-old MF starred for both club and country in 2022, making him a nominee for the 2022 Concacaf Men’s Player of the Year.

At Qatar 2022, the U.S. played in their first FIFA Senior Men’s World Cup since Brazil 2014, with Adams serving as the youngest captain for a U.S. World Cup team since Brazil 1950.

Adams played every single minute of the U.S. campaign at the World Cup, helping the North Americans reach the Round of 16. He also earned Man of the Match honors in the first two group stage matches for the U.S., a 1-1 draw with Wales followed by a 0-0 draw against England.

For the year 2022, Adams led all U.S. players with 14 appearances and 1,131 minutes, and was selected as the U.S. Soccer Men’s Player of the Year.

He was just as important at club level. Adams finished the 2021-22 European season with German Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig, with whom he won the DFB-Pokal title, the first ever in club history.

Adams played in 17 matches with Red Bulls Leipzig across all competitions, before being transferred over the summer to Premier League side Leeds United.

Prior to the World Cup break, Adams appeared in 13 of 14 matches for the English club.
