MIAMI, FL (Wednesday, November 26, 2014) – The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) announced today that its Disciplinary Committee has suspended the Head Coach of the Cuban National Team, Raul Valentin, for the remainder of the XXII Central American and Caribbean Men’s Football tournament, while an investigation is conducted for the use of offensive and racist language towards the referee of the match against Venezuela. Ignoring the recurring requests made by the CONCACAF General Coordinator, Mr. Valentin continued to use offensive language.
As a result of the incidents, the CONCACAF Disciplinary Committee has started a process to investigate the case thoroughly. The incident occurred on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Luis Pirata Fuente Stadium, in Veracruz, Mexico, during a group stage match between the National Teams of Cuba and Venezuela.
