It was certainly a memorable year for Franco Jara. Not only did he lift the 2016/17 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League trophy with Pachuca, he was the recipient of the competition’s Golden Ball as the best player. The 29-year-old forward scored four goals in the knockout rounds, netting the game-winner in the final, second leg against Tigres (1-0 win / agg: 2-1). In 22 total Liga MX games in 2017, Jara struck for seven goals (Clausura: 13 games, 5 goals / Apertura: 9 games, 2 goals).
