MIAMI, Florida – This Friday at 7:00 PM ET, Concacaf will be airing a re-broadcast of two Concacaf Gold Cup classics, the first being the 2019 Gold Cup quarterfinal between Mexico and Costa Rica, followed by the 2017 Gold Cup semifinal between Jamaica and Mexico. Both matches will be shown on Concacaf’s Facebook and YouTube pages, plus the Concacaf App.

While the 2017 semifinal between the Reggae Boyz and El Tricolor was a memorable, here are five more of the all-time greatest Gold Cup semifinals.

2000: Canada 1-0 Trinidad and Tobago

These two sides arrived into their semifinal fresh off of Golden Goal victories in their respective quarterfinals, with Canada downing Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago seeing off Costa Rica. Both sides sought a first ever Gold Cup Final appearance and for much of the affair it looked destined for extra time. But that changed in the 68’ when a glancing header reached Mark Watson, who then headed in to earn Canada a 1-0 win and a place in the Final.

2005: United States 2-1 Honduras

Heading into the late stages of this semifinal, Honduras were poised to return to their first Gold Cup Final since the inaugural edition in 1991 thanks to a Mario Ivan Guerrero goal in the 30’ off a right-footed strike. But the U.S. would mount a ferocious late rally, pulling even 1-1 in the 86’ through John O’Brien, who swept in a left-footed shot off an attempted Honduras clearance. Six minutes later in the 90+2’, Oguchi Onyewu would seal the dramatic 2-1 comeback victory with a header off a Landon Donovan free kick.

2013: Panama 2-1 Mexico

Panama and Mexico were familiar foes when they took to the field in this semifinal, with the Canaleros having defeated El Tricolor 2-1 in their Group A opener. More than two weeks later they met again in the semifinal and a composed finish from Blas Perez gave Panama an early 1-0 lead in the 13’. Mexico would respond in kind and Luis Montes brought his side level 1-1 in the 26’ by steering a header into net. It would come down to a nervy second half, and the difference would arrive in the 61’ when a charging Roman Torres spun a header into goal to hand Panama a 2-1 lead that they managed to hold until the final whistle.

2015: Jamaica 2-1 United States

Jamaica were looking to make some history by becoming the first Caribbean nation to reach a Gold Cup Final and the Reggae Boyz were off and running to a 2-0 halftime lead thanks to a well-placed header from Darron Mattocks in the 30’ and a sweetly-struck free kick from Giles Barnes in the 35’. The U.S. looked to fight back and cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 47’ when Michael Bradley followed up a rebound to score, but in the end, Jamaica would hold on for the historic victory.

2019: Mexico 1-0 Haiti

Haiti were flying high in reaching a first ever Gold Cup semifinal after rallying from a 2-0 halftime deficit to beat Canada 3-2 in the quarterfinals. Mexico had survived a penalty shootout with Costa Rica and the mental fortitude of El Tricolor would be on display once again in this tight, physical battle. A 0-0 draw after 90 minutes resulted in extra time, and Raul Jimenez would break the deadlock in the 93’ with a penalty conversion to seal Mexico’s place in the Final.
