UPPER BETHLEHEM, St. Croix -- The US Virgin Islands will battle against Saint Martin at the Bethlehem Soccer Complex in St. Croix on Tuesday with third place in League C Group A on the line.

The two sides last met in September, when the Dashing Eagle jumped out to a 2-0 lead after six minutes and never let go, ending the day as 2-1 victors.

Since then, however, Saint Martin have improved dramatically, with home wins over Barbados and the Cayman Islands, the top two sides in the group.

The question surrounding this team is whether they can keep that success on the road. In two matches as the traveling side, they’ve yet to get on the scoreboard.

For the Dashing Eagle, it’s quite the opposite; they’ve been great away from home all three times out, and now are looking to give their local crowd an exciting closing performance.

The US Virgin Islands played the Caymans very tough earlier in the week, and though they fell 1-0, they looked more than capable, with Aaron Dennis in particular impressing with four shots and two on target.

A win or draw is enough to clinch third place for Saint Martin, while the Dashing Eagle need to win by at least three goals to pass their rivals in the final standings.
