HAMILTON, Bermuda -- A pair of goals scored by Gabriel Torres plus another from fellow FW Rolando Blackburn and a debut international goal by Adalberto Carrasquilla gave Panama a 4-1 victory over Bermuda in the first-ever League A contest of the Concacaf Nations League in Group B on Thursday night at Bermuda National Stadium in Hamilton.

Torres opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark when an attempted clearance bounced off him and fell into space. He ran onto the ball and shot after taking a touch for the opener.

Bermuda drew level before the half, with Panama center back Harold Cummings in the wrong place at the wrong time after a Reggie Lambe shot hit off the post. It went off the defender and in for an own goal.

Blackburn tapped the ball in to put Panama back in front just before the halftime whistle, as Edgar Yoel Barcenas’ low cross got past everyone in the box and found his teammate, who had the simplest of finishes.

After a deflected shot from Blackburn, Torres then struck near the penalty spot for a third goal for the Canaleros.

With Bermuda trailing in stoppage time, goalkeeper Dale Eve came up to lend the attack a hand on a free kick, but Panama was able to hit on the counter, with Alberto Quintero setting up Carrasquilla, who finishe into the empty net.
