PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago.- Once again, there was nothing between Trinidad and Tobago and Martinique, with a rally from the visitors leading to a 2-2 draw between the sides at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago on Monday night.

Days earlier, the teams played to a 1-1 draw in Martinique, leaving both teams with two points in Group C of League A after two matchdays.

The hosts were off and running in the 17th minute, with Alvin Jones opening the scoring with a rocket from just outside the box beating goalkeeper Loic Chauvet.

The halftime whistle was still ringing in fans’ ears when Ryan Telfer doubled the lead. The forward, who debuted for Trinidad and Tobago last week, got the last touch on the ball in a goal-line scramble.

But Martinique fought back at the hour mark, with a corner kick deflecting off Trinidad and Tobago’s Daniel Carr to cut the deficit in half.

And then Jordy Delem was there in the 80th minute to knock in a ball from a set piece that had taken a deflection and sat for the taking in the box.

The home side surged forward, looking to retake the lead, but Chauvet’s double save in the 88th minute helped earn Les Matinino the point.
