MIAMI, Florida – Just one match in League C is one the docket on Saturday, but it will be a pivotal one, as British Virgin Islands host Turks and Caicos Islands in Group C play at the A.O Shirley Recreation Ground in Road Town, British Virgin Islands.
This will be the first ever Nations League contest between the two sides, but there have been two previous matches, with Turks and Caicos Islands holding a slim 1W-1D-0L advantage.
When one thinks about Turks and Caicos Islands, the first name that comes to mind is the ever-dangerous Billy Forbes.
The veteran striker punishes defenses that give him the slightest amount of space or time, and over his sterling career that has led to a whopping seven goals in the CNL, plus three assists.
Forbes isn’t the only threat, though, as Junior Paul and Jeff Beljour can produce big goalscoring performances. Look no further than the 2022-23 CNL when Beljour scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory versus US Virgin Islands and Paul had a brace in a 2-0 win versus Sint Maarten.
For the British Virgin Islands, Tyler Forbes is a player that has everyone buzzing. The 21-year-old already has four career CNL goals and no doubt will be looking to add to that tally.
Troy Ceasar and Jerry Wiltshire are two other players with a history of scoring in the CNL for BVI, while Wiltshire also has served as a playmaker with an assist.
