SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras.- After a successful start to the Concacaf Nations League, Honduras heads home to meet Martinique with a chance to clinch its place in June’s final round with a victory in Sunday’s game at the Estadio Olimpico in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

Alberth Elis stood out for Los Catrachos in a 2-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday, setting up goals for Brayan Mora and Douglas Martinez in the triumph. Now, Fabian Coito’s men look to defend home turf, with a win enough to clinch the top spot in the group. Coito may make shifts in the midfield after opting to rest midfielders Bryan Acosta of FC Dallas and Luis Garrido of Alajuelense in the first contest of the window.

Martinique brings a team largely based in the domestic league with a boost from Seattle Sounders defender Jordy Delem and a handful of players based in France. Delem scored late in the second September match against Trinidad and Tobago, keeping things level and making sure the first series was split.

Now, with the next two matches in Group C play pitting these two teams, both control their own destiny and will be eager to get maximum points to move into the final of the tournament and guarantee their spots at the Gold Cup.
