MIAMI. - Nicaragua and French Guiana look to stay in pole position for promotion in Groups B and C, respectively, as League B resumes play in the 2023-24 Concacaf Nations League on Friday.

Atop Group B is Nicaragua with 12 points, but the Dominican Republic is on their heels just three points behind. Montserrat and Barbados look to stave off relegation as the final two matchdays commence.

In Group C, three points separate first place French Guiana and last place Belize. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are second, just once point from the top, with Bermuda one point behind them.

Montserrat vs. Dominican Republic

Montserrat hosts the Dominican Republic at the Blakes Estate Stadium in Plymouth, Montserrat.

The two nations face off for the sixth time, with the Dominican Republic leading the series with three wins, Montserrat one, and one draw.

The two previously met on September 11 when the Dominican Republic took a 3-0 home victory over Montserrat. An own goal from Jeriel Dorsett opened the scoring before Dorny Romero would go on to collect a brace.

Romero enters the November fixtures tied with Guyana’s Omari Glasgow for the League B Golden Boot race with six goals. Axel Raga of Saint Martin, competing in League C, leads all scorers with eight goals.

The Dominican Republic lost its first encounter of the tournament, 2-0, to Nicaragua but has rebounded with a three-match winning streak. The team has been solid defensively with two shutouts during that run, while also providing an offensive output of 13 goals.

Conversely, Montserrat started its campaign with three points as a Lyle Taylor brace inspired a 3-2 victory in Barbados. The nation has struggled since with three consecutive defeats in which they were held scoreless.

Bermuda vs. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Bermuda meets Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at the Dame Flora Duffy National Sports Centre in Devonshire Parish, Bermuda.

The two nations last faced off in a seven-goal thriller back in September that ended in a 4-3 home victory for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Oalex Anderson took the headlines with a hat-trick and Jahvin Sutherland provided the winning goal to withstand a late rally from Bermuda.

In three all-time encounters, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have won twice and drawn once. Both sides are looking to regain their winning ways with a potential jump to first place on the line.

Kane Crichlow is coming off scoring in back-to-back games in October for Bermuda, including the match-winner against Belize. Goalkeeper Dale Eve has stood out with eight saves and eight clearances in the group stage.

Anderson is the top scorer for Vincy Heat and has scored five of the country’s nine total goals in CNL play. Marlon Simmons is the nation’s leader in ball recoveries with 13 in the tournament.

Barbados vs. Nicaragua

Nicaragua is off to a perfect 4-0-0 start and could clinch promotion with a victory, depending on what happens in the Montserrat-Dominican Republic match. Barbados continues to search for its first win in this campaign.

The previous meeting between Nicaragua and Barbados ended in a 5-1 win for the Blue and White. Ariagner Smith, Juan Perez, Jaime Moreno and Jacob Montes scored for Nicaragua, while Thierry Gale scored the lone Barbados goal.

Gale leads the way for Barbados with four goals. Liam Brathwaite has 22 saves in the current edition.

Perez leads Nicaragua with three goals, followed by two from Matias Moldskred Belli and Moreno. Moreno leads in attempted shots (17) and is Nicaragua’s all-time top scorer in CNL.

In three all-time encounters, Nicaragua has won twice and Barbados once.

Belize vs. French Guiana

Belize and French Guiana face off at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan, Belize.

The two last met in September as Belize took a 2-0 away victory in Cayenne, French Guiana. Jordy Polanco and Angelo Cappello were the goal scorers on that day.

That victory is Belize’s lone three points of the campaign. Eldon Reneau scored from the penalty spot to rescue a point at Bermuda in the previous encounter.

French Guiana had back-to-back wins in October to take the lead in the group. Thomas Nemouthe scored the opening goal in both victories and is the co-leader in goals for the nation in the current campaign.

The all-time series is tied with two wins apiece and one draw.
