MIAMI, Florida – Three days after meeting on Friday night, Curacao and Honduras will once again lock horns in Group C of League A of the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League, this time with Honduras playing host at the Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano on Monday in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

The Hondurans emerged with a hard-fought 1-0 win in their first encounter in Curacao, with Jose Pinto providing the lone goal for the Catrachos.

Curacao certainly had their fair share of scoring chances to find a goal. Four different times during the second half it appeared the Caribbean side would break through for the equalizer, but time and again they either missed the mark or were denied by Honduras GK Luis Lopez.

Now, Curacao will be out to return the favor of winning away in what will be the third all-time match between the two nations.

Curacao were 1-0 winners in their first contest in the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup before Honduras’ triumph on Friday.

Playing at home, all signs point toward Honduras Head Coach Diego Vazquez deploying a more attacking approach, so the likes of veteran attackers Romell Quioto and Jerry Bengtson will be ones to watch, as will rising star and MF Edwin Rodriguez.

Curacao FW Elson Hooi had several good looks at goal for his side on Friday, so the team’s all-time leading scorer in CNL will be keen to add to his tally.
