MIAMI, Florida – The inaugural Concacaf Nations League continued on Friday with three matches ending in clean sheet victories for French Guiana, Saint Lucia and Belize.

In the day’s opening match, visiting French Guiana used a three-goal first-half to muscle past Anguilla 5-0.

The visitors settled in quickly and a hard-struck, long-range strike from Jean Eudes Lauristin gave them a 1-0 lead in the 15’.

French Guiana’s luck from outside the area continued in the 29’, as Joffrey Torvic made it 2-0 with a strong right-footed effort.

Les Yana Dokos stayed on the attack and after Rhudy Evens was brought down in the area, Alex Eric calmly converted the penalty kick to stretch the lead to 3-0 in the 38’.

French Guiana could put the three points on ice in the 55’ when Anguilla failed to clear its lines and Thomas Issorat pounced to make it 4-0.

The day was then capped by Warren Rino in the 84’ when he tapped in the rebound of a Joel Sarucco shot.

That was followed by a very strong performance from Saint Lucia, who registered an impressive 3-0 win away at Antigua and Barbuda.

An exciting first half ended goalless before Saint Lucia’s finishing boots kicked into gear in the 50’ when Pernal Williams polished off a slick one-two combination with Shayn Paul with a right-footed shot to make it 1-0 to the visitors.

Saint Lucia was off and running with the goal and it doubled the lead to 2-0 in the 67’ when Antigua and Barbuda GK Brentton Muhammad parried the ball right to the head of Andrus Remy, who sent it back into net.

Antigua and Barbuda looked to work its way back into the contest, but the Saint Lucia defense proved too strong and the visitors rounded out their superb performance with a Jevick Mac Farlane goal in the 90’ for the 3-0 final

The day was then capped by Belize downing Bahamas 4-0. Legendary Concacaf goalscorer Deon McCauley once again showed why he is one of the most feared strikers in the region, by pouncing on his own rebound to give Belize a 1-0 lead in the 40’.

Three minutes later it was 2-0 to the visitors thanks to the playmaking of Nahjib Guerra’s whose deep cross was turned into the net by a Bahamas defender.

Krisean Lopez stretched the leaf to 3-0 in the 80’ by latching onto a slick back-heeled pass from Michael Atkinson and finishing. Lopez then added a second in stoppage time for the 4-0 final.
