LEONORA, Guyana – Guyana host Aruba on Friday in Group C of League B in the 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League at the Leonora National Track & Field Center in Leonora, Guyana.

Sheldon Holder scored the lone goal to give Guyana a 1-0 win against Aruba in the first match of the group back in September.

Guyana went on to lose their following encounters against Jamaica and at Antigua and Barbuda. A 5-1 win against Antigua and Barbuda, however, saw them recover from that bad spell and take second place in the group.

Holder and Trayon Bobb lead the goalscoring charts for Guyana with two goals apiece. Goalkeeper Akel Clarke has eight saves in CNL play.

Aruba would go on to lose against Antigua and Barbuda and back-to-back encounters with Jamaica. They must win against Guyana to fend off relegation to League C.

Terence Groothusen is the lone man to find the back of the net for Aruba in the CNL. Joshua Gross, the team’s leading shooter against Jamaica, will also be looked to for goals.

The two nations face off for the fourth time ever. Guyana has emerged victorious from all three previous encounters with eight goals for and one against.

This match will be only the second meeting between the two in the country of Guyana.
