PARAMARIBO, Suriname – Suriname picked up a 4-0 win over Dominica in Group D of League B action in the 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League at the Andre Kamperveen Stadium in Paramaribo, Suriname.

Dimitrie Apai and Gleofilo Vlijter each collected a brace to deliver the full three points for the hosts.

The 25-year-old midfielder Apai opened the scoring after getting the second touch from a Suriname corner kick.

Dominica would concede a penalty, but the score would remain 1-0 after goalkeeper Glenson Prince denied Vlijter.

Apai was denied by the crossbar in the 50th minute as Suriname continued looking for the second goal of the match.

Ultimately, Vlijter would increase the lead to 2-0 with his ninth goal of the tournament in the 60th minute.

Vlijter would be lethal inside the box once more, increasing the lead to 3-0, with his 10th CNL goal in the 74th minute.

Apai would collect his second of the night in the 88th minute to make it 4-0 Suriname.

Suriname remains second in the group with 10 points to their name, one behind first place Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Suriname can still win the group depending on the results of the final matchday.
