EINDHOVEN, Netherlands -- PSV Eindhoven announced Monday night that it has reached an agreement with Pachuca for the transfer of Mexico international Hirving Lozano.
The 21-year-old attacker, who is currently competing for the Tricolor at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia, flew to the Netherlands for a physical and approve a six-year contract.
Lozano helped lead Pachuca to the 2016/17 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League title, capturing Golden Boot (eight goals, two assists) and Best Young Player honors.
Earlier in his career, Lozano was the joint-top scorer at the 2015 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship and the Golden Ball winner at the 2015 CONCACAF Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship. Mexico won both competitions.
He has also played in the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup (3 games/1 goal) and the 2016 Men’s Olympic Football Tournament (3/0).
The 16-time capped Lozano, who was part of Pachuca’s 2016 Liga MX Clasura-winning side, is the fifth Mexican to sign for PSV, joining Andres Guardado, Hector Moreno, Carlos Salcido and Francisco Rodriguez on an impressive list.
