FALKIRK, Scotland – When Canada faces host Scotland on Wednesday, some visiting players won’t have far to travel for the international friendly in Edinburgh.

Three members of the squad play for Scottish for clubs – Fraser Aird (midfielder) and Luca Gasparotto (defender) are teammates at Falkirk, while Marcus Haber (forward) competes for Dundee FC.

“I think it’s really good, you always like to have players called up for international duty,” said Falkirk head coach Peter Houston was quoted as saying on the club’s website. “They (Aird and Gasparotto) are both in our team and playing well and it’s a great experience for them to play against Scotland. I know they are both looking forward to it and are excited about the call-ups.”

Aird has four caps for Canada, while Gasparotto is looking to make his debut.

Haber inked a deal with Dundee that was initially to see him through the end of the season, but – just three months later -- his performance were rewarded with a new two-year contract.

The 28-year-old, capped 27 times, has scored six goals in 19 league games for Dundee, including two in a 5-1 win at Motherwell on February 25.

If Haber appears at Easter Road, he will be the first Dundee player to play against Scotland since Trinidad & Tobago’s Brent Sancho did so at the same stadium in 2004.
