MIAMI, Florida – Everybody loves a rematch, more so when it’s a FIFA Women’s World Cup Final rematch. This will happen on Wednesday when the United States Women’s National Team face The Netherlands at the Wellington Regional Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand in their second match of Group E.

The USA added their fourth star when they defeated the Europeans 2-0 in the Final at France 2019. With goals from Megan Rapinoe and Rose Lavelle, the North Americans crowned themselves as back-to-back champions. Football fans now will be able to watch these two sides in a much earlier stage and see how these two teams play each other for the next three points.

The USA started their fifth star campaign with a 3-0 win against debutants Vietnam. The players to watch delivered, as FW Sophia Smith scored two goals, entering the Golden Boot race. Captain FW Lindsey Horan added the third and final goal to give the USA their first points of the tournament.

The Netherlands, European champions in 2017, also won their first match of the first round, defeating Portugal 1-0. The Dutch overcame the Women’s World Cup debutants with a goal from DF Stefanie Van der Gragt. Unlike the 2019 Final, this time around the Netherlands will be without star FW Vivianne Miedema, who suffered an ACL injury last year.

The Dutch will try to rewrite history and change results, as the USA has always come out unbeaten when the two nations play each other, the last time being at the Tokyo Olympics when the U.S. squeezed out a 4-2 penalty shootout win after a 2-2 draw.

One of the most anticipated games of this group stage, both teams arrive with wins, wanting to add three more points to secure a spot in the next round. Fans around the world will be eager to see who comes out victorious in what is now a classic in women’s football.
