CHICAGO – The United States women’s national team will play 10 matches prior to the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, including four across the United States in April and May, it was announced Monday.

After six matches in Europe, the Americans’ first domestic match will be played against New Zealand on April 4, at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri.

The final three matches take place in May and make up the Send-Off Series.  The USA will take on Ireland (May 10, Avaya Stadium in San Jose, California), Mexico (May 17, StubHub Center in Carson, California) and Korea Republic (May 30, Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey) prior to departing for Winnipeg, Canada, in advance of the team’s first match of the Women’s World Cup. 

The U.S. will open its 2015 campaign with six straight matches in Europe, starting with encounters at France (February 8) and at England (February 13).  It will then play four matches at the annual Algarve Cup in Portugal from March 4-11.  There, the CONCACAF champion will face Norway (March 4), Switzerland (March 6) and Iceland (March 9) in group play, as well as compete in a placement match (March 11). 

This summer, the USA will face Australia (June 8), Sweden (June 12) and Nigeria (June 16) in Group D at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
