MEXICO CITY – The Mexico women’s national team opened its second camp of 2015 on Monday with an eye on a pair games next month.
Head coach Leonardo Cuellar called in 24 players for the gathering at the Mexican Football Federation’s High Performance Center that will last through February 8.
The camp will feature double training sessions, lectures on psychology and nutrition, plus video review.
As part of its preparations, Mexico will meet visiting Ecuador in friendlies on February 5 and 7, also at the High Performance Center. Both sides qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be played later this year in Canada.
The Mexicans are in Group F with France, England and Colombia. Ecuador, which got past Trinidad & Tobago in an intercontinental playoff to capture the final spot in the competition, was drawn into Group C with Japan, Switzerland and Cameroon.
