MIAMI – CONCACAF announced Sunday the participation of Cedella Marley in the Let’s Develop Women’s Football conference on October 25 in Philadelphia.

Ambassador to the Jamaica national women’s national football team, Marley has used her background in business and philanthropy to increase awareness of the program.

Her tireless efforts on behalf of the Reggae Girlz has garnered financial and professional support for their current participation in the 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Championship, the Confederation’s qualifying competition for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Aside from her role as a mother and now Ambassador, Cedella serves as CEO of Tuff Gong International and oversees the Marley Group of Companies, playing a pivotal role in the expansion of its operations.  The organization now includes the House of Marley, Marley Coffee, Marley’s Mellow Mood and more.

Touched by creativity, Cedella’s Catch A Fire clothing collection, which debuted to rave reviews in 2001, presented tailored, bohemian-chic jackets, jeans, accessories and an assortment of tees for women.  She is currently designing additional collections for Zion Rootswear, the Marley family’s apparel company.

Cedella is also an accomplished author of children's books, having written The Boy from Nine Miles (The Early Life of Bob Marley), Three Little Birds, One Love and Every Little Thing.

Marley will be one of four members on the Football Changed My Life panel.  By sharing her experience with the Jamaican women’s football, great value will be added to this top-level development conference.

The gathering is being held alongside the semifinals, match for third place and final of the 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Championship, taking place at PPL Park, October 24-26, in nearby Chester, Pennsylvania.
