MIAMI – The Final Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers to the 2026 FIFA World Cup continues with Guatemala hosting Suriname in Group A on Tuesday at Estadio El Trébol in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Ninety minutes separate Suriname from its first ever World Cup qualification. Leading the group on goal difference, Suriname is tied on nine points with Panama and needs to maintain its first place standing to seal the direct qualification.
Suriname is coming off an emotional 4-nil victory over El Salvador on home soil. Richonell Margaret recorded a brace to help the nation move closer to its first ever World Cup appearance.
Suriname can secure its World Cup ticket with a victory, combined with a Panama loss or draw. If both nations win, Suriname must finish the night with a higher goal differential to finish in first place.
Guatemala is eliminated from contention after a 3-2 defeat against Panama. Arquimides Ordóñez and Rudy Muñoz scored in the comeback attempt and will seek to help Los Chapines finish on a positive note.
