MIAMI – The Concacaf Qualifiers to the 2026 FIFA World Cup concluded with three nations booking their spots in next year’s tournament, including second-time participant Haiti.
The 51-year World Cup drought is over for Les Grenadiers as they clinched their spot in the FIFA World Cup for the first time since Germany 1974.
Haiti’s campaign began with wins over Saint Lucia, Barbados and Aruba in route to a 3-0-1 record and a second-place finish in Group C of the Second Round.
The nation was able to fight through adversity into the Final Round, forcing a hard-fought 3-3 draw at Costa Rica, and following it up with a 3-nil win over Nicaragua last September.
Haiti got its first-ever win over Costa Rica in World Cup Qualifying and snapped Los Ticos’ 15-game unbeaten streak to start the November match window, rebounding from a 3-nil loss to Honduras in October.
Despite playing its home matches at neutral sites, Haiti finished off the Final Round strong with two consecutive shutouts to complete the historic feat and top Group C with a 3-2-1 record.
Alongside Curaçao and Panama, and co-hosts Canada, Mexico and USA, Haiti will be one of at least six Concacaf representatives at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
