MIAMI – The Final Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers to the 2026 FIFA World Cup continues with Haiti taking on Honduras in Group C on Friday at Stadion Ergilio Hato in Willemstad, Curaçao.

Haiti will be returning to the Final Round of qualifiers after 44 years. The nation has only participated in one World Cup, at the 1974 edition.   

Honduras is looking for its first qualification since 2014 and fourth overall after also participating in the 1982 and 2010 editions. This will be the 11th time Los Catrachos are participating in the Final Round of World Cup qualifiers.

In the all-time series, Honduras has the advantage over Haiti with 13 wins in 18 encounters.

Haiti and Honduras will meet for the 19th time in history, with Honduras leading the series with 13 wins and 5 defeats.

In FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, this will be their fifth meeting. Honduras has recorded three consecutive wins and one loss (0-1) in the Final Round for the Germany 1974 World Cup on December 7, 1973, at the Sylvio Cator Stadium in Port-au-Prince (HAI), with a goal from Roger “Ti-Roger” Saint-Vil.

In the Final Round of qualifiers, they will face each other for the third time. The first was for Germany 1974 on December 7, 1973, and the second for Spain 1982 on November 3, 1981, at the Estadio Nacional Chelato Uclés in Tegucigalpa (HON), a 4-0 victory for Honduras with goals from David Bueso, Jorge “El Indio” Urquía, Eduardo “La Aguja” Laing, and José Roberto “El Macho” Figueroa.

Haiti returns to the Final Round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers after 44 years. This will be their  7th participation, having previously competed in Switzerland 1954 (3rd place, eliminated), Mexico 1970 (runner-up, eliminated), Germany 1974 (1st place, qualified for their only World Cup), Argentina 1978 (2nd place, eliminated), and Spain 1982 (6th place, eliminated).

Honduras is playing in the Final Round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers for the 11th time, starting with Mexico 1970 (eliminated in extra time 3-2 by El Salvador in a playoff in Mexico), Germany 1974 (4th place, eliminated), Spain 1982 (1st place, qualified for the first time), Mexico 1986 (2nd place, eliminated), United States 1994 (4th place, eliminated), Korea & Japan 2002 (4th place, eliminated), South Africa 2010 (3rd place, qualified for the second time), Brazil 2014 (3rd place, last qualification), Russia 2018 (4th place, eliminated 3-1 on aggregate in the Playin against Australia), and Qatar 2022 (8th place, eliminated).
