PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago - The Final Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers to the 2026 FIFA World Cup continued with Trinidad and Tobago and Curaçao drawing nil-nil in Group B on Friday at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
Tyrese Spicer had the first chance for the hosts in the 17’, but his header from the center of the box was saved by Curaçao goalkeeper Eloy Room.
Curaçao’s Jeremy Antonisse took his chance in the 28’ with a long-range attempt that was high and wide to the right of the goal.
Roshon van Eijma came close to placing the visitors in the lead in the 38’, but his headed finish to the top right corner was met by a diving save from Trinidad and Tobago goalkeeper Denzil Smith.
The Soca Warriors opened the second half creating danger in attack, but Curaçao’s backline and interventions from Room kept the match scoreless.
In the 55’ a shot from Dante Sealy from long range was saved by Room at the bottom right corner, before Juninho Bacuna cleared a header from Andre Rampersad off the goal line in the 56’.
Room pulled off two more important saves in the 77’ and 81’, stopping a powerful hit from Spicer from the left end of the box and denying a shot from Levi García at the center of the goal.
Tyrese Noslin produced the best chance for the visitors in the second half in the 89’, with a right-footed drive that was just wide of the far post.
Both goalkeepers delivered standout performances to secure clean sheets. Trinidad and Tobago’s Smith posted two saves. Room recorded six saves for Curaçao.
Both teams will carry on with their campaigns on Tuesday, when Trinidad and Tobago visit El Salvador and Curaçao hosts Bermuda.
