WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao – The Final Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers to the 2026 FIFA World Cup continued with Curaçao earning a 3-2 win over Bermuda in Group B on Tuesday at Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, Curaçao.
Curaçao opened the match with two early chances in the 2’. First, Jeremy Antonisse’s attempt from the center of the box was saved by Bermuda goalkeeper Dale Eve, before Tahith Chong’s subsequent shot was met be a defensive block.
Chong scored the go-ahead goal for the hosts in the 14’, taking advantage of a rebound and placing the ball at the bottom left corner with a shot from the center of the box.
Chong secured his brace to double Curaçao’s lead in the 26’, cutting in from the right side of the box before a finish to the far post. Jearl Margaritha provided the assist on the play.
Krane Crichlow shortened the deficit for Bermuda in the 35’, finding the back of the net from close range to capitalize on a delivery into the box from Ne-Jai Tucker. The goal marked the historic first one for the Caribbean nation.
Djair Parfitt-Williams levelled the match for Bermuda in the 42,’ with a right-footed shot from the center of the box following a line-splitting ball from Dante Leverock on a fast break.
Eve had an important intervention in the 45’+1 to prevent Curaçao from taking the lead before the break, denying an attempt from Antonisse from close range.
Tyrese Noslin restored the lead for Curaçao in the 75’ with a first-time hit from the right end of the box. Chong provided the assist on the play to conclude the match with two goals and an assist.
With the result, Curaçao is now second in Group B with four points, while Bermuda is fourth with zero points.
Curaçao will host Jamaica in the next qualifying window on October 10. Bermuda will aim to bounce back when it hosts Trinidad and Tobago on the same day.
