Hamilton Lopez (pictured) was one of 22 players called up for Guatemala's friendly against Honduras on February 10, 2016.
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala – Two days after completing his first mini-camp as Guatemala head coach, Walter Claveri named Friday a 22-man roster for the February 10 international friendly against visiting Honduras.
Half of the selection comes from local powers Municipal (6 players) and Comunicaciones (5), while midfielder Rodrigo Saravia – who signed his first professional contract a day earlier with the USA’s Columbus Crew SC – is the only foreign-based player.
The squad is highlighted by the inclusion of Municipal defender Denniss Lopez, who has scored a joint-team high two goals in CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Guatemala and Honduras drew 1-1 in their last meeting on October 8, 2015.
